BKat Consulting was the firm chosen by the Azorean Regional Government, Secretary for the Environment and the Sea, for the management of the projects PIT  - Intervention Program in Tourism of Portugal Tourism that the office is running.

Projects "Route of Biosphere Reserves" and "Ecotourism Islands of Pico and S. Jorge" were financed by the PIT Program Tourism of Portugal in1.118.783 €, running by the end of 2011. The projects aim to create conditions for the sustainability of ecotourism in the Azores, in particular in the Islands in high-pressure environment, such as Flores, Corvo and Graciosa (awarded by UNESCO as "biosphere reserves") and also the two islands in the central group, the Pico and S. Jorge.

The investment of the Regional Government in these two projects will totalize about 4.3 million euros, including the rehabilitation of infraestructures to the reception of tourists, Nature interpretation, Tourism Promotion, content creation and further certification and training of operators and agents local tourism.
